Magento Commerce Testing

Magento Commerce front-end is separated into different typical pages. Each type of page can be configured, modified, and displayed uniquely. These changes are displayed on the front end, but the configurations should be changed on the backend part of the site.

In this lesson, we will understand how and where quickly check, configure and test every page.

Home Page

Home page – specific page of each Magento store view. On the screen below, it is the default LUMA theme.

This home page is a usual CMS page and can be configured in the backend. This page can contain any type of block that the customer wants.

The home page can be managed within the Magento Commerce Admin panel.

Login Page

Login Page – a page for the customer user where you can create a new account or login into an already created one.

All new users and already created ones can be found in the backend part of the site. You need to go to the ‘Customers -> All Customers’ grid.

My Account pages

My Account pages – this page looks like it sounds. The page where every user can check the information about orders, saved addresses and payment methods, wishlist, Reward points, and change the password or email.

Product Listing page

PLP – (Product Listing Page), also called category page. The products that contain the category are displayed on the front end in a grid with the filter block on the left side. Each said product and even its position of it in the grid can be configured on the backend part.

Category Management page.

Product Details page

PDP – (Product Details Page) is where customers can check the information about specific simple, configurable, bundle, or grouped products.

Also, there are images about the product, and customers can add the product to the cart from the PDP.

Shopping Cart

The shopping cart is a page where customers can check all selected products. It’s a configuration, qty. Also, promo or gift card codes can be applied there. Subtotal blocks for the added products to the cart are displayed.

Checkout

Checkout: This is the typical last page for the Magento store. Here all the magic happened. The information about the customer, shipping and billing addresses, shipping method, payment information, and other secure transmissions is used here, so security should be on the top level.

All these steps are configured and controlled by the admin user from the Sales tab on the configuration page on the backend.

It is how the primary, most straightforward Magento store works and is displayed.

All these specific pages can be modified as the owner wants, which is why Magento Commerce is on the list of the most popular CMS e-commerce systems.
